Dry Is Not An Adequate Decription

Ah Ageless, says Gaius. Denis and I have something to ask you.

I need a drink first, mutters Ageless.

That probably answers my question, says Denis.

Water? asks Captain Baudin.

Ageless nods.

Baudin pours Ageless a glass of water.

Ageless drinks the water, which tastes faintly of salt.

That's better, says Ageless. Now what was the question?

How do moths taste? says Denis. I imagine quite dry.

Worst night-time snack ever, says  Ageless. Dry is not an adequate description.

If they came out of the curtains, no wonder, says Captain Baudin. They'll have been trapped in the box quite some time.

Eating nothing but curtains, muses Denis.

Last time I eat moths, says Ageless. Do I smell croissants?

You do, says Captain Baudin. Help yourself.

Ageless takes a croissant.

Now for my question, says Gaius.

Go ahead, says Ageless.

It's more a request, says Gaius. Denis and I have been discussing the ethics of cuttlfish egg removal.

Ho! says Ageless.

What do you mean Ho! asks Gaius.

Better late than never, says Ageless. So now you don't want me to do it?

We do, but we think you should obtain permission, says Gaius.

I'll get permission, says Ageless. I have a way with the ladies.

All very well, says Captain Baudin. But what if the ladies have died?

Good point, says Gaius. Parent cuttlefish die soon after their eggs have been laid, and never see their offspring.

I'll explain it all to them, says Ageless, reaching for a second croissant.

Wait, says Denis. Doesn't this bring up another ethical dilemma?

No one else seems to want it, says Ageless.

I'm not talking about the croissant, says Denis. What if the cuttlefish are unaware of the whole situation?

The female I met did seem rather carefree, says Ageless.

But was that because she didn't know or because she did know? asks Denis.

Trust me, says Ageless. I'm used to such situations.

Gaius does not like the sound of this.

But what can he do?

Ageless is the only one currently allowed in the water.
