Violet Clots

Nerida returns.

They've taken him to Gladstone Hospital for observation, says Nerida.

Good, says Katherine, one can't be too careful.

Why? asks Terence. You always tell me to be careful.

That's true, says Katherine. We should always be careful.

But not too careful, says Terence.

I didn't mean that, says Katherine. Perhaps I confused you.

You didn't, says Terence.

What are we to do now? says Gaius.

Visit Arthur, says Nerida. He might be okay by tomorrow.

If he isn't, says Gaius, we'll have to leave for Krombit Tops without him.

He'll have no one! says Nerida.

Arthur is resilient, says Gaius. We can keep in touch by phone. And we'll be less than two hours away.

I guess so, says Nerida. But let's go to the hospital now, and see how he's doing.

They leave Barney Point Beach and get into the 4WD Wagon that Gaius has hired.

They drive to the hospital.

Arthur is currently being observed. He is wearing an oxygen mask. He is breathing.

He sees a low sun spotted with mystic horrors, lighting up with long violet clots...

But he's seen them before.

Hello Arthur! says Gaius. Feeling better?

Huuugh, says Arthur, disturbing the violet clots.

Good, says Gaius. Will you be ready to leave with us in the morning?

Muuuuh, mutters Arthur.

A green night with dazzled snows, a kiss slowly rising.....unknown saps...

Guess what? says Terence. It's Easter and I'm getting a frog.

Never mind frogs, says Nerida. Arthur needs to get better

Choc...o...late,  mumbles Arthur.

That was unexpected, says Gaius.

Would you like us to go, Arthur? asks Katherine. Do you need need peace and quiet?

Wait! says Nerida. Theres a snack machine at the end of the corridor.

She heads off to see what it dispenses.
