What The Captain Did Next

Well? says Terence.

Greedy is exhausted, says Nerida. Let her rest.

But what did the handsome captain do next? asks Terence.

I don't know, says Nerida. What do you think, Arthur?

Let's work backwards from what we know, says Arthur.

Clever, says Nerida. What do we know?

She was placed here where Terence would find her, says Arthur.

Someone who knew where Terence would be sitting, says Nerida.

A spy! says Terence.

Who would be spying on Terence? asks Nerida.

No one, says Arthur.

Maybe they were spying on Greedy, says Terence.

Who would be spying on Greedy? asks Nerida.

Ask her, says Arthur. Blow her up again.

Nerida is about to blow Greedy up again when the drinks trolley comes by.

Any drinks? asks the trolley attendant. Oh, I see you've found your pink toy!

Are you a spy? asks Terence.

No, says the trolley attendant. Were you surprised to find it?

Yes, says Terence. And she's gone flat again.

She keeps doing that, says the trolley attendant.

Do YOU know what happened? asks Nerida.

I do, says the trolley assistant. The captain on your flight from Adelaide to Brisbane found her and handed her in.

Do captains always look for lost toys? asks Arthur.

Not normally, says the trolley attendant. But your toy was making peculiar noises.

Like a bomb? asks Terence.

TERENCE! says Nerida.

Did someone say bomb? asks a nearby passenger.

False alarm, says the trolley attendant. This boy was talking about his pink toy. Don't worry, it's been through security.

What are those patches on the toy? asks the passenger.

Airline plasters, says trolley attendant. Please return to your seat.

The passenger returns to his seat. Airline plasters! Who knew?

Next time he gets a scratch on a plane he will ask for one.
